Dr. Greg Propst

Professional – Dr. Greg Propst earned his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M University in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He then earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Texas State University in 2012.

During his time as a doctoral candidate at Texas State, Greg worked as the lead graduate assistant on several research projects investigating concussion identification, testing, consequences and recovery. Greg had the opportunity to present these findings at the Federal Interagency Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury in Washington, DC and the Texas Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in San Antonio, TX.

Since graduating with his DPT in 2012, Greg spent time in outpatient, inpatient, and home health settings in the Brazos Valley. His primary role has been in Home Health where he manages patient care, new employee training, and Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement sessions. Additionally, Greg serves as a special topics advisor to the Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer of the 4th largest Home Health & Hospice in the United States. During his time serving in this role, Greg developed a mobile interactive gaming setup that was easily transported into patients’ homes for rehabilitation. He conducted a randomized, multi-site, clinical trial for Parkinson’s and Post-Stroke patients. Greg was awarded a grant for this work and presented his findings at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in Washington, DC. This work was published in the Home Health Section Journal Second Quarter 2020.

Despite devoting himself to the Home Health field, Greg continued to pursue his other passions such as nutrition and lifestyle optimization, athletic performance and recovery, and sport-specific injury rehabilitation through post-doctoral certifications and training in:

Manual Therapy

Precision Nutrition Level 1

Functional Movement Systems – FMS Level 1

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Therapy/Training

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

Personal – Greg was born and raised in McAllen, TX where he was active in baseball, tennis, basketball, football, and roller hockey (no ice in SOUTH TEXAS!!). After choosing to pursue tennis, Greg achieved a top 30 ranking in the state of Texas which likely explains his passion for working with overhead athletes.

Greg loves any athletic activity and since ending competitive youth sports, he participated in a number of additional intramural, recreational and league sports such as volleyball, ultimate frisbee, bowling, racquetball, lacrosse, golf, CrossFit, and Camp Gladiator. The combination of Greg’s love for sports of all natures, understanding of the movements and stresses of those sports on a personal level, and his physiotherapy knowledge give him a unique perspective on the treatment of athletes and active adults.

Greg met his beautiful and incredibly gifted wife, Lindsey, at A&M just before Physical Therapy school in 2009. They were attached at the hip from that point forward as they attended PT school together and were married in 2012. They moved back to College Station after graduation in 2012 and have expanded their family with 3 incredibly wonderful, vibrant little girls.
